The Free tier runs RMBG locally — a lightweight ONNX background-removal model with no AI service cost. The Pro tier sends the same image to Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model (Vertex AI) for higher-fidelity foreground/background separation when the local model isn't sharp enough. Both tiers composite text between the two layers in your browser using the HTML Canvas API; nothing about the typography or rendering depends on a remote server.
